Card Payment Processing - The Value Chain

This new, one day session focuses on card payments processing, examining the processing functions and approaches at each point in the value chain, including acquirers, networks, and issuers. We’ll examine dual and single message approaches to processing, authorization and settlement functions, and exception processes and their relationship to association ‘rules’. After looking at the structure of processing, we’ll pay special attention to topics such as:

  • Debit processing approaches for both PIN and signature cards

  • Pre-paid card processing

  • Fraud and risk management capabilities - where and how they are tied into authorizations

  • In-sourcing, out-sourcing and third-party value-added services

  • Expected impact of ownership changes on the card companies and major US processors

Who Should Attend: Is the Workshop Right for You?

This special focus workshop is ideal for:

  • Bank card product managers, risk managers, and operations managers

  • Product managers, sales managers, and business development managers from processors and other service providers

  • Technology and service executives who are building products that leverage payment systems

  • Analysts and investors who are interested in understanding how this market is changing

  • Executives from startup companies that will rely on processors for services or as channel partners

Glenbrook payments workshops are taught by two Glenbrook Partners – veterans who have “been there, done that” at senior positions in the payments industry. The number of attendees range from 30 to 45, and our workshops are structured to ensure that there is plenty of time for Q&A – both during the sessions and during breaks.

You'll leave with an understanding of the "big picture" of payments and new insights into the key drivers and most important trends affecting the industry. You'll also receive a binder with a copy of all of our presentations—a valuable reference resource.

How Much Does It Cost?

Payments workshop fees are $995 per seat. Early registration and multiple ticket discounts are available. Alumni of Glenbrook's Payments Boot Camps also qualify for discounts. See the Fee Schedule for more details.

Fees include the workshop itself and a continental breakfast and lunch. Participants also receive paper handout copies of all presentation materials.

Hotel accommodations are not included; see specific online registration pages for recommended area hotels.
